Cookies

Cookies and similar browser storage are small pieces of data a site keeps in your browser. Here is exactly what this site uses:

  • Essential (always on): what the site needs to work, such as remembering your cookie choice and, where the site offers accounts, keeping you signed in and protecting that session. These are not used to track you and cannot be turned off without breaking the site. Your cookie choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage, not a cookie.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which articles are read. It is privacy-first: it does not use cookies and does not fingerprint or track you across other sites. It records aggregate page views, not personal profiles.

We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ads settings, or opt out of third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info.

Email and the mailing list

If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us so we can send you new articles and guides, and so we can tell you about products and services when they become available. We do not sell your address or share it with unrelated third parties; we only use trusted providers to store the list and send the emails on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
